Recently, we had the extreme pleasure of attending the Boise Basin Quilters Annual Quilt Show on September 27th & 28th. This is Idaho’s only professionally judged quilt show!
This year there were hundreds of gorgeous quilts and vendors! It was a great two days with lots of informational demonstrations, quilt raffles, and tons of handcrafted items for sale!
Patterns, Designs, Quilts, Galore!
If you weren’t able to attend this years event, don’t worry! Madeleine Chute Trainor is the Quilt Show’s Chairman and has uploaded a ton of pictures from the event, here.
The event also featured a quilter by the name of Lois Haynes, who showcased 33 quilts and 4 jackets!
Lois had a very unique story that began with a move to Alaska in 1974. They had no electricity except for “on call” meaning, they had to start the generator and only used it for the large jobs, big power tools, laundry, and starting the car in the extreme cold weather. Lois spent her time sewing in the dark on a Vertical Feed Treadle Machine and wore a mushers headlamp to do her stitching.
Pretty impressive if you ask us!
