Are you feeling the holiday spirit? If so, it might be time to break out the needle and thread and begin channeling your inner artist.
I’ve found some of the best holiday projects from the Brother Education Department to share with you. These patterns are specially designed to utilize the great features on your Brother Dream Machine.
Appliqué Placemat and Napkin
What better way to prepare for Christmas dinner than spicing up the kitchen with some festive placemats? The matching dinner napkin adds a colorful highlight to your holiday setting.
This design works best when you highlight your Christmas tree with some metallic thread. This design also has a neat trick — the napkin can be inserted through the tree trunk on the placemat.
Chenille Christmas Tree
If your Brother Embroidery machine is waiting on the sidelines, than this 18” chenille Christmas tree is going to be a snap, as this pattern comes ready to go with the Brother Memory Card (no. 57).
You’ll begin by crafting the chenille for the appliqué fabric that will be the highlight of your tree. You can then use your machine to stitch the rest of the project out, finishing with the construction of a pillow back.
Once the tree itself is ready to go, the funnest part might be decorating it! A variety of colorful buttons make perfect ornaments for your chenille Christmas tree.
Ribbons are a nice finishing touch for gift wrapping. If you really want a present to pop, then using your own custom-crafted ribbons will do the trick. Enjoy the free holly design from Brother while adding your own message to the ribbon; resulting in a beautiful package that won’t be forgotten.
“Let It Snow” Holiday Stocking
Flex your sewing muscles to make this elegant stocking for all your family members. The pattern even includes a neat trick for making fuzzy snowflakes!
If the house and Santa look like a tough nut to crack, they are included on Brother Embroidery Cards #55 and #28, so your machine can do the heavy lifting for you. We recommend batting or Easy Knit interfacing for more body if you choose lightweight fabric for this project.
Everybody needs their own Christmas sweater! Make your own version and you can be the queen (or king) of the next holiday get together or ugly sweater party (yes, that’s still a thing). Start with a plain red sweater, and then bling it out on your machine with felt, ribbon, and embroidery. Make your finishing touches with some fabric paint and glitter and you’re all set.
