Beginning Quilting Class with Sue: Yankee Doodle ZigZag Flag Gems Quilt
We'll be making the "Yankee Doodle ZigZag Flag Gems" Quilt from Wilmington. It's a beautiful patriotic zig zag quilt that finishes approximately 46" square.

| Requirements: | Must bring your own sewing machine with supplies. Bring fabrics to create your block/project. You'll need the following for the quilt: Background: 1 yard (light blue) Binding: 1/2 yard (dark blue) Backing: 3 1/8 yards - your choice For the Red, White, and Blue fabrics, you can use a Patriotic Jelly Roll or scraps from your stash: Blue strips: cut (39) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" pieces Red strips: cut (64) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" pieces White strips: cut (60) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" pieces From Fabric A: (light blue background) cut (2) 7" strips, subcut (7) 7" squares - then cut in half diagonally twice for a total of 28 triangles, (1) 4 1/2" square, (2) 3 3/4" squares - then cut in half diagonally once for a total of 4 triangles, and (7) 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" pieces. Cut (3) 4 1/2" strips, subcut into (27) 4 1/2" squares. From the binding fabric (dark blue): cut (5) 2 1/2" strips |
